Bloom

“Bloom” is a collection of small, floral-inspired original oil paintings. Flowers have come to represent for me those budding ideas, hopes, and dreams that, long developing beneath the surface, reveal, briefly, their bright glory. They help us to celebrate and to mourn, to rejoice and to grieve; we offer them to one another as a way of participating in someone’s joy or to walk beside them in sorrow. They are gifts, reminders that dirt can become soil and from our messy lives, beauty so often finds a way to break through. 

I hope these paintings will be gifts to those who receive them. Reminders of all that has blossomed, and all that might still. 

I’d like to offer with this collection a Blessing by poet John O’Donohue that rang in my ears as I created this small series. A printed version of this blessing can be included with any order by request.
