Description
Getting Warmer is an original 4 × 4 inch acrylic cardinal painting, created with heavy-body acrylics on a 1.25-inch canvas. Built with a palette knife, the surface holds visible layers of paint, allowing texture and movement to play an active role in the composition.
The painting features a cardinal rendered with loose, intuitive marks rather than strict realism. Painted in vivid reds against a soft green ground, the piece reflects themes of familiarity, repetition, and learning—returning to a well-known subject while engaging it through a new medium. Though cardinals have appeared often in my work, this painting marks a moment of adjustment and growing understanding within an ongoing exploration of acrylic paint.
This original acrylic painting comes framed in a gold frame and is ready to hang upon delivery.
