Description
This original bird painting features a tufted titmouse, one of the most familiar and beloved backyard birds in North America. Painted with thick, expressive palette knife strokes and a soft pink background, the piece captures the quiet personality and alert presence of a bird often seen returning again and again to the feeder.
Created as part of my 31 paintings in 31 days project, this work reflects my ongoing fascination with revisiting the same subject without repeating myself. Though I’ve painted the tufted titmouse many times, each version emerges differently — shaped by the day, the mood, and the moment of looking.
The heavy texture and visible marks celebrate the physical act of painting, while the small scale invites close viewing. This piece is perfect for bird lovers, nature collectors, or anyone drawn to expressive, intimate wildlife art.

Please note: All paintings created in the 2026 31 in 31will be featured in our gallery exhibition on February 21 and will not be available for shipping or pickup until after the close of the show.
