Crawfish painting 2, 6×6, oil on gessoboard, $75 SOLD
Am I really one third of the way through my thirty in thirty? Ten paintings down, twenty to go. Honestly, it’s been far easier than I thought it would be. And I’m happy. Really happy. Not sure how else to say it. I go to bed at night with brushstrokes dancing in my head and when noon the next day (naptime!!) finally comes around, I run to my brushes in eager anticipation. Too much? I’m not usually so maudlin. But really. Ah. Feel like I’m living the dream.
I started this painting about ten minutes into yesterday’s. I just felt like I needed to do two at the same time. They’re similar, but this one has some shorter, quicker brushstrokes.
Confession: I’m not crazy about eating crawfish. I feel like a heretic given I was born, raised, and currently reside in southern Louisiana. I felt I needed to get it out there, purge myself of my guilt by confession. I do LOVE to paint them. Invite me to a crawfish boil before the end of the season and you just might earn yourself a painting.
