I’ve been working on that blasted cardinal still, but it’s still a no go. I really want to do some more portrait and figure studies, but, well, those are more of a process, and today I only had a brief time to paint. So I turned to my most beloved bird, the pelican. I’m thinking of the Saints in the NFC championship tomorrow. I know it doesn’t really matter what shirt I wear, or what image I paint. But the whole fun of sports superstition is that it makes us feel part of it– win or lose, we are somehow connected to it.
So today I chose the Louisiana state bird which I always see as an omen of good that is to come, and tomorrow I’ll wear exactly what I wore to the game last week. And if things go well, I’m pretty sure I’ll take just a little bit of credit.
