The madonna is one of my staple images– one I visit and revisit so I’m surprised this is the first in my 100 day series. This one is loosely based off a statue.
I’m trying to play around with using the palette knife to put down strokes of colors that don’t blend but whose values create features and form. Still have much work to do and getting increasingly frustrated with the process. Lately painting has been laborious and strained. Looking, I suppose, for a little divine intervention to get me through these next 45.
