Description
A second line band moves through the streets in Play the Pauses, instruments in hand and music almost audible in the spaces between them. Soft pinks and lavender are punctuated by deep blues, black, and flashes of brass, while thick palette-knife texture gives the musicians and surrounding architecture a lively, rhythmic quality. The title Play the Pauses is a reminder that music isn’t made only from the notes. The spaces between them matter too. Full of movement yet rooted in that idea of pause and rhythm, this piece celebrates both the energy of the second line tradition and the quieter spaces that give the music its shape.

- Originals and paper prints are typically processed and shipped within 2-7 business days after payment confirmation, excluding weekends and holidays. Stretched canvas prints that are not currently in stock at our gallery can take up to 14 days to process and ship.
- Shipping Methods:
- We ship all artwork via USPS or UPS
- Shipping costs and delivery estimates will be calculated at checkout based on the destination and selected shipping method.
- Shipping Confirmation:
- Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information to track your package’s delivery status.
Returns and Exchanges:
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your order, we offer a hassle-free return and exchange process within 30 days of the delivery date. Please follow these guidelines:
- Eligibility:
- To be eligible for a return or exchange, artworks must be unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging.
- Return Process:
- Contact us at denise@denisehopkinsfineart.com to initiate the return process.
- Securely package the artwork(s) with the original packing materials.
- Ship the item(s) back to us using a trackable shipping method. The return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to our error.
- Refunds and Exchanges:
- Once we receive and inspect the returned item(s), we will process your refund or exchange within 5-7 business days.
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.
- Exchanges will be subject to product availability. If the desired item is unavailable, we will issue a refund or offer an alternative solution.
Damaged or Defective Items:
In the rare event that your artwork arrives damaged or defective, please contact us immediately at denise@denisehopkinsfineart.com. We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly, whether through a replacement, refund, or repair.
Custom Orders:
Please note that custom or personalized artworks are not eligible for return or exchange unless they arrive damaged or defective. We will work closely with you throughout the customization process to ensure your satisfaction.
