Contradictions and Fairywrens

I paint big. I paint small. I like texture and smoothness. My palette knives and brushes are at war. Or maybe they are just good friends who appreciate and admire each other’s strengths. I tend to see the world in competitive terms.
No need. The past few weeks I have been in love with large palette knife paintings. So it is only natural that a small brush painting would make its way into my heart so as to keep things nice and fair.
I discovered this bird on instagram. I follow about a 100 people who only post pictures of birds (less of a stigma than cats, no?). It’s a splendid fairywren. And with a name like that, how could you not steal my heart? Fairies? Splendid? Who comes up with these names anyway?
