She smiles for two whole days
Paint them–a lifetime
I like painting flowers for a lot of reasons. One of them is that they don’t die or wither. The leaves don’t start to yellow and then brown (all of which I also find beautiful).
I guess it’s why I still have framed baby photographs of my son on my walls or why we hang photos at all. This moment. This fleeting moment says something about what has already happened and what is to come. This moment isn’t beautiful because it will last, but maybe because it won’t. So I drink it in– let it become a part of a me that is changing too.
