“In Search Of” 6×6, oil on canvas

Had to try the killdeer again– this time on a slightly bigger surface. I tried to put more color in the “white” stripes this go round. 

I had a professor in college who told us never to use pure white and never to use pure black. To go deeper. To find the rich color in each. It’s good art advice. It’s good advice. In an increasingly polarized world, I’m looking for color beyond rigid and lazy extremes.
