“Uplifted” 6×6, oil on canvas
What’s that saying? The only things we can be certain of are death and taxes? I’ll add one to the list– children interrupting you.
I can’t keep track of the days anymore. Edit: I don’t care to keep track anymore. At my house, we are really, really working on not interrupting each other. It’s tough. But there’s one important exception– “MOM! There’s a hummingbird” can be yelled whenever, even if I’m in the middle of a sentence or an adult conversation. I do not like to miss hummingbird sightings. Everything else can wait.
Today’s painting is very much like my day 33 painting, but it’s smaller and the strokes give this little one a life of his own. I created it for one of my favorite collectors to send as a birthday gift to a friend of hers in New Mexico.
