“King of Madisonville” 6×6, oil on canvas $75 Buy Now
I took a million photos of this rooster strutting around Madisonville a few months ago. I’ve painted him several times, but this time I had a new set of palette knives. I’ve been using the same two palette knives on all my paintings whether they are 6×6 or 24×36. Now I’ve got a variety of sizes– and the smaller ones on the smaller canvas seems to be making a huge difference.
I like to test new tools on old subjects– attempting to leave everything “the same” so I can focus just on strokes.
And I love this tiny rooster. He acts like he owns the town.
