You would think I’d be in a constant state of awareness about what day it is in my painting challenge. But soon after the first week, I promptly started forgetting, and each day’s post began with a look back at the previous one to ascertain what the current day was. Come to think of it, I should probably go back and check for errors.
So it’s not surprising that this morning I was surprised to discover I was actually on day 90. And out of nowhere, I teared up a little– I’m not sure why:
I can’t believe I’ve come this far or I’m not sure what to do when it’s over? Maybe I never really envisioned what doing this challenge would mean for me. Somehow it means more and less than I thought.
I’m traveling home from Tampa today so I’ll be able to finish out these last ten days in my studio. I pre-painted today’s painting before I left. I painted this one right after painting the cardinal on day 85. I wanted to keep going with the same bird in a different posture.
Where once my little 6x6s where my staple, I now find them hard to maneuver. Like the birds need to be set free– have more open space to fly.
