Mother and Child Art– April Challenge Day 8

Mother and Child 3 8×8 oil on gessoboard $100 Click to purchase

Since I’ve decided to renew my love affair with oil paints after a three year hiatus, I just had to revisit this image.  The palette’s changed a lot too; not necessarily on purpose, but I felt drawn to cooler shades. This mother and child painting started in acrylic, done entirely with a palette knife.  Something just wasn’t quite right, so I painted over it entirely with oils and with a brush.

Alright ya’ll, send me some unposed pictures of you and your newborn/child (denisehopkinsfineart@gmail.com).  I know it’s not making it big time (yet) but you could be featured!

In other news– I’ve gotten ahead on a few of my paintings.  I still have pelican paintings and mother and child art in the works, but expect some new subject matter in the upcoming days.
