“Rhythm of the Waves” 6×6, watercolor on paper, $75.00
Day what!? How can this be my 40th painting? How can life have been upside down this long?
Truth be told I’ve found a rhythm. Not the graceful, dancer kind. More like the rhythm of waves on the open ocean when you’re prone to seasickness. But eventually you just settle in. You just ride it out. You find something to hold on to.
I spent another morning with my less-dusty watercolors. I’m a little obsessed with that bright blue on the right of the pelican– that was all the water doing it’s thing. I mostly just watched it happen.
Once upon a time pelicans were my rainbows, and I’m looking to them and for them again now.
